Curriculum Development: Step One | Step Two | Step Three | Step Four | Step Five

Step Two: Identify Aims, Goals and Objectives

Now that you have a topic or project, think about the big questions?  What overarching questions, themes, problems, or interests will students encounter?  Specifically, what knowledge, skills, and dispositions (goals, objectives) will the students learn?

What grade level will be addressed?  Which standards? Take some time to review the Standards of Learning for the grade and identify appropriate standards, being sure to look across the various content areas.  The National Educational Technology Standards may help as well.
