What's a wireless response system? It's a way for everyone in the class to respond to a question using a transmitting device that communicates wirelessly to a receiver. Think about the television show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire when the audience responds to a question and you have a good idea of how a wireless response system works. While most of the current focus is on using the systems in college classrooms, more and more of these systems are popping up in K-12 classrooms as well because they encourage everyone in the class to respond, including those students who are often reluctant to participate. They are generally quite portable and require a computer and projector in order to be used in the classroom. Here's a link to an article about using these systems at the college level.
